This week I held my first session of character design workshops at Ysgol Gymraeg Gilfach Fargoed. During the workshop children explore the importance of why consideration regarding shape and colour is essential when creating characters. There was some fantastic work done from Years 3 to 6 and it would be rude of me not so share some of the work here!
Well done to everyone for the outstanding work. I also ran a competition for the children participating; the prize will be their character re-created in my style and framed with an official Certificate of Authenticity. Keep an eye out when the winners of the competition are announced next week!
I completed work on the collaborative project with Newport Museum and Art Gallery and cannot wait to be able to share more news about it in the coming weeks!
I also launched my World Book Day competition where children can win an official
'The Giant of Gilfach Fargoed' pencil case full of colouring pencils! I can't wait to see the pictures of children dressed up like the character's from the story. There is a free giant mask kit available in the activities section or look out for an official giant mask kit that will be available to buy in the store soon.
