George & the Giant Mask

Writer: Chris MorganChris Morgan

This week's post is mainly dominated by mask announcements!

After my visit to Ysgol Gymraeg Gilfach Fargoed last week, I received an email from the Grandmother of a young man named 'George'. George had been telling her a story that he had heard in school about a giant that used to eat fairies.

They visited the activities section on my website and downloaded the free 'The Giant of Gilfach Fargoed' mask pack. This is George proudly wearing his mask that has been expertly coloured! Well done George, I loved receving your picture and maybe you could wear your mask on World Book Day to be in with a chance to win an official 'The Giant of Gilfach Fargoed' pencil case!

The next mask announcement is that the official mask pack will be launced in the store next week ready for anyone else that might be thinking about what to dress up as for World Book Day on March 7th 2024.

My competition will be running all week from 4th March 2024 and if you follow https://www.instagram.com/chrismorgan.wales/

on Instagram and tag your pictures using #TGoGF #WorldBookDay or #CGF #DiwrnodyLlyfr

Finally I have been judging the competition that I ran at my character design workshop with Ysgol Gymraeg Gilfach Fargoed. The winners have been chosen from lots of brilliant characters. Many of the children used shapes very well, while others used what they'd learned to pick some meaningful colour palettes. It was a very difficult decision but the children chosen used both shape and colour to tell their character's story and I will announce them when they return from half term!
